  • Labor on Labor Day

We have this back door that has been giving us some trouble

off and on ever since we moved into our house.

But the last year it has gotten much worse.

So awhile back we bought a new door to replace the old one.

However it had not been put in.

To many things to do and not enough days & hours to do them!

Fred decided to replace the door yesterday.

Seemed like a relatively simple job.

We already had the door.  We were not going away till later in the afternoon.

However when they took the old door out.

They realized that the one whole wall became very unstable so,

they took off some siding and this is what they found.

A whole corner of the house all rotted!!  Who knowe when this happened but it did.

So they had to now tear down basically this whole corner in order to fix it.

Here you can see they got it all replaced.

Chancy is putting the siding back up and Fred and Cody were working on the floor.

This door goes into an entry way it had been flush with the outside porch

and then after you went in it stepped up to the next level.

We were always having trouble with water seeming to

seep in from the porch and in the winter it freezes and the door is hard to close.

So they were going to make the inside floor all one level

and make the step up outside into the house.

I neglected to get a picture of everything after the door was in!

But they did get it in.

The twins left around 3:30 to head to the park for our church picnic.

     We left about  4:30 ourselves.
