Cody's accident
last evening on the way to the youth Bible study Cody had a bad accident. It happened about 1 1/2 miles from our house. He was driving his jeep and was by himself. Normally Chancy would have been with him but because Novalee & Darin were in PA, Chancy is taking care of their animals. He was going to sleep at their house after the Bible study. So they were in seperate vehicles.
Cody had his windows and the sun roof open and some things were blowing around. He was trying to "catch" them. He ran off the road a little on a gravel drive and then over corrected and went off the other side of the road and hit a bank and was ejected. The jeep then flipped several times before stopping and then started to burn.
here is where he ran off the road
and then overcorrected and went off the other side
here in the front right of the pic you can see
where the jeep stopped and burnt
in the middle of the pic you can see
where he came off the road and was ejected.
Chancy had forgotton something and turned around to go back to the house and was the first one at the scene of the accident. A neighbor lady went past and called the fire dept. The took Cody by ambulance to the hospital. He had no broken bones. He does have a puncture wound under his left arm, that they stitched and a gash in his head that they stapled. He also has serious "road rash" on both sides of his torso. He was able to come home around midnight. He is very sore and stiff! I am praising the Lord that he is ok.
The paramedics said that if he had not been ejected......he most likely would have been killed. He normally wears his seatbelt but did not wear it last evening. He thinks he was ejected throught the sun roof. I have no doubt in my mind that God was watching out for him.

Those pictures gave me serious goosebumps!!!! So glad he's okay!Yes,God was watching over him!The road rash looks very painful but it will heal.Praising God with you!
Oh, Vonnie! What a story for Cody's life message! I'm not even his mom, but it makes me want to cry for all the gratefulness I feel when I think of all the "might have beens" that were NOT because of God's protecting hand.
But I must say that road rash looks painful! And he must also mourn the loss of his jeep. So I do pray for comfort in the midst of the thankfulness, and peace in the midst of loss. Cody, of course, will feel this intensely, but you as a family unit and the individuals that make up your family will all be truly impacted by this as well. My thoughts and prayers (and grateful praise!) are with you!
wow glad the angel for him was on the job.
So glad that he is ok!

Rejoicing with you that he is okay! I think he has a personal miracle!
I've been following on facebook but this still gives me chills! So glad he is ok!
Wow. Vonnie, I heard others talking about your son's accident! I am so thankful for you that he is not hurt worse! Vehicles can be replaced, and those hurt places will heal, but what a Miracle that he's not hurt worse!! PTL!
